Meeting for Recreational Rides, April 9, 2008

-          Youth Bike League with the YMCA

- This is a chance for kids from age 5-15 to learn about riding safely.  They will meet four Thursdays starting  May 22^nd at the Y.  They will also be entered in the kid’s race at the Norfolk Classic.  The Y is handling registration.  If you have questions or want to help out, contact Jamie Bachmann.

     - Group Rec Rides

- Meet with the entire club at Cleveland’s on Wednesday nights at 6:30 starting May 7^th. There will be different routes for the competitive riders and the intermediates and beginners.  We will have to decide how many groups based on who shows up.  We will also have to decide on routes beforehand.

- There will be a short tutorial on the rules of the road and riding with groups at the beginning of the first few rides.

- One or two experienced riders will accompany the beginners on the rides.

     - Bike Clinic

- To be held at the Cowboy Trail Trailhead on April 26^th.  There will be a tire repair clinic from 9:00 to 11:00 and a presentation on routine maintenance from 11:00 to noon.

- We need to get flyers made up for distribution soon.  We also plan to check with the Visitor’s Bureau to see about bags to pass out in which we can put flyers for the club, the recreational rides, etc.

- We also need to plan getting word out to the radio stations and news papers.

- It would help if we made up a sign to be placed at the park entrance.

     - Misc.

- We also talked about the club getting together some Saturday this summer to ride some trails in another city, with maybe a picnic lunch involved.
