Norfolk-based Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club was well-represented at the Gut Check 212 endurace race across South Dakota August 15 and 16, 2008. The four-man team made up of Allan Walton (53), Timothy Powell (54), Joshua Rasmussen (22) & Devin Bethune (24) all of Wayne NEshattered the race record in the Leap Frog Division, besting the previous record of 34hrs:41min by over 14 hours! Their official finish time is 19:28!!

The Gut Check is an endurance race across South Dakota via SD Hwy 212 where riders have 48 hours to make the 412 mile journey from the SD/WY border to the SD/MN border.The purpose of this event is to raise funds and awareness for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).
