Name: Rhonda Wright
Age: a lady never tells!
Current City:Stanton
Home town:Stanton
Significant other’s name/family:my husband (Jamie)
What pays for your cycling addiction (where do you work)? Faith Regional Health Services
What do you do away from cycling for fun? I like to work on muscles cars (i have a nova and cuda), garden, cook and watch reality tv shows on Bravo (unfortunately for Jamie)
How long have you been cycling: I got my first mountain bike in 2002 it was $250 and I was not happy that my husband thought I needed to spend that much money on a bike. We went to the black hills on our honeymoon and that was my first taste of singletrack ,the centennial trail near the pilot knob trail head. I did not take it seriously for several years only biking on the cowboy trail and on vacation until 6 years ago when my mom had a hemorrhagic stroke. This was a pretty stressful time in my life (and still can be as she lives with us now due to her disability). Anyway, long story short biking as fast as I could was the only way I could unwind and de-stress, it still is.
 Bikes: Titus carbon x
 Favorite cycling discipline: MTB
Most memorable race: Leadville 100 (2011) I entered the race thinking there was no way I was getting in..and I did. I drove there alone and rode the race unsupported. I was late to the race and was literally the last one lined up, then didn’t stop for water when i should have and ran out..oops. Beyond all that it was the best think I have ever done. The thought of a DNF after my name was more painful than any of the 104 miles.
Highlight of your cycling career: Hearing my name called overhead as a passed the finish line in leadville.
Goals for 2012: I was hoping to get into leadville this year..and didn’t .go figure. I think I need to work on speed and techinical skills.. I know I can go pretty far slowly 🙂
If given the means, what would be your dream bike and accessory set up? This is going to sound corny, but I love my bike , built it one piece at a time , its light and sexy!!
One thing you want your teammates to know about you: I have a hard time getting to team functions so I’m not trying to avoid you I swear!
