After an abbreviated season the 2011 Rider of Year standings are final and posted. Elkhorn Valley Cycling came away with three champions – Cole Skiba, Jerry Arnold, and Troy Leavitt – and several top ten finalists.
After an abbreviated season the 2011 Rider of Year standings are final and posted. Elkhorn Valley Cycling came away with three champions – Cole Skiba, Jerry Arnold, and Troy Leavitt – and several top ten finalists.
Team Type 1 team members Nancy Stirek and Craig Harding of Omaha headed west to Kearney, Nebraska for the 2011 Nebraska Senior Games, a qualifying event for the National Senior Games. Craig Harding explained “The Senior Games are held every two years. The next National Games are in 2013 in Cleveland, Ohio. And, yes, I’m going!”
Craig and Nancy came away with a stack of hardware following the two day competion held near the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument. All results courtesy of the event organizer.

EVCC member Sam Oakes, riding for Team Type 1 – Nebraska is the Men’s 4 19-39 State Time Trial Champion, crowned on June 25th in Yutan, Nebraska.
The Yutan TT course consists of a 40km out-and-back notorious for its windy conditions. Oakes laid down a time of 59:33, good enough for a seventh place overall in category and the age bracket win.

Troy Leavitt wins the Captial City Criterium “in a brilliantly timed sprint!!” according to Dan Spray (via Twitter) on Saturday in Lincoln while Joe Savoie scores a silver medal in the Mens Masters class. A huge contingent of EVCC and TT1 riders turned our for the annual event, promoted by Bike Pedalers and Flatwater Racing.
