Flatwater CX Weekend and 2011 NE State Championships

The 2011 cyclocross season came to a close as it does annually at Pioneer Park in Lincoln this year under the banner of the Flatwater Racing Cyclocross Weekend. Temperatures were cold but with no precipitation the riders had to only deal with staying warm and not staying dry. The promoters use of available terrain made a challenging and spectator-friendly venue worthy of a State Championship event.

Midwest Trek Twilight CX round 2

A truly spectacular night of racing was held at Seymour Smith Park in Omaha with the second and final round of the Midwest Trek Twilight Cyclocross series. The track was fast, the atmosphere was great, and the community was friendly.

Rich Anderson finished 16th in the Men A Under 40 race while Cole Skiba DNF’d after a crash in the same race.

Jon Downey was ninth in the Men B 40 & Over race.

Whitney Porn took a well-deserved third in Women B Under 40.

The cyclocross season wraps up in Nebraska next weekend with the Flatwater Cycling Cycling Cyclocross Weekend, including the Nebraska State Championship CX.

Double Podium for the Houts Family in LeMars CX

Buddy Houts takes second and father Glen Houts third behind  Ulyses Salas (SC Velo) at the Bike Central CX race in LeMars on 11-6-2011.

Midwest Trek Twilight CX round 1

The Flatwater Cycling Twilight CX series morphed into the Midwest Trek Twilight CX series on for round one on November 2 at Seymour Smith Park in Omaha. The weather was very much ‘cross weather which undoubtedly kept a few of less brave riders away.

Rich Anderson was the lone EVCC rider in the event taking 17th in the Mens A 40 and under class.

The series continues on November 9.

Flatwater Twilight CX Round 4

The Flatwater Twilight CX series wrapped up October 26 and EVCC had several riders in the mix.

Janna Vavra again took the Category A Women Under 40 win. Also in the A race, Rich Anderson was 18th in the under 40 class after again suffering from some tire issues.

In the B race, Steve Cross was sixth in the Under 40 Men while Whitney Porn was second in the Under 40 women.
