In a recent email to USA Cycling members, USA Cycling President & CEO Steve Johnson announced a new plan for race licenses for 2014.
I am also pleased to announce that, beginning in 2014, USA Cycling will consolidate domestic road, track, cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing licenses into a single domestic racing license that will now allow you to compete in any cycling discipline (except BMX). The move to a one-license model replaces the discipline-specific licenses for road, track, cyclo-cross and mountain bike, and will simplify and streamline the licensing process as well as the on-site event registration and check-in process. The new license model also means that you will no longer need to purchase an additional license or a one-day license in order to compete across disciplines (a one-day trial membership is still required for non-members). > Good morning Dave,
> I just wanted to give you an update on the reach your sponsorship money has had do far in 2013.
> Elkhorn Valley Cycling held its annual mountain bike race in June. Each competitor/spectator was greeted with a large "Monster" banner when entering the venue and each photo taken of the winners on the podium included a Monster logo. Competitors for this event came from Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.
> Our website, www.nencycling.org displays a linked Monter "M" logo. So far this year we have had nearly 5,000 visitors with over 10,000 page views.
> Our Facebook page www.facebook.com/nencycling has had a combined reach of 4228 on its published articles since January 1.
> Exposure via uniformed racers
> While this is a bit harder to quantify in numeric terms I can say that we have had riders in at least 25 races around the country. Our reach is eastern Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado, southern California, and of course Nebraska.
> We have had riders on the podium in numerous races including the Midwest Flyover (road racing) series (the largest mid-western racing series for 2013) and the Psycowpath MTB series (one of the most successful and larger off-road racing series in the midwest.)
> Our riders compete in several forms of cycle-sport including road racing (road races, time trials, and criteriums), mountain bike racing, ultra-endurance races both on paved and gravel roads, triathlons, and cyclocross in the fall. As you will see in the attached photos, the Monster logo is proudly displayed at all times.
> I hope we are meeting your expectations, and look forward to a long relationship with you and Monster Energy.
