2009 Skyview Grand Prix CX, Norfolk
In the works is a Norfolk round of the 2009 Nebraska Cyclcocross series - the Skyview Grand Prix. The 2009 schedule is currently being finalized and this race should be on the schedule, worked in with the Omaha and Lincoln weekends. Details are still to be worked completely out, and this hinges entirely on the cooperation of the City of Norfolk. I don't anticipate this being an issue as we have worked well with the city in the past and the course is already in place and used by various high schools for cros country runing events.

Which One Do I Pick?
With Cleveland's likely to become a Trek and Gary Fisher dealer real soon, I have been looking at new mountain bikes for the 2009 season. I have settled on a hard tail and one of these two bikes. I have really already picked one, but am curious what opinions there are out there. Please feel free to post your choice between these two, if you need more information from me before you make your informed decision, feel free to ask. Bring on the comments. read more »

No Broken Bones But My Season Is Officially Over
Raced the Branched Oak Psycowpath today. Legs, check. Feeling good? Check. Bike working as well as an old NRS can? Check. Shoulder pads? Oops, knew I forgot something.
Things were going well. I boogied up the one mile gravel road climb, in site of the leaders and about mid-pack. Into the singletrack no problem. Wow, was that the first (of four) lap I just finished? Cool. I'm right where I want to be. Lap two, still going ok.
Lap three I relaxed. I was keeping my pace, cruising. About halfway though, there is this blind right hander, with a snow fence catch to keep folks from doing a header into the trees and/or lake. Someone (Kevin Murray but who keeps track?) had hit that earlier and tore it partway down, so I was used to just crusing through the corner with the orange fence on the ground. This time, someone had dutifully put the fence back, Wow, I can blow through here and.... read more »
