EVCC Results from the Bone Bender and Platte River Battle Royal

While the road crew was in Iowa for the Twin Bing, several EVCC racers were in Lawrence, KS April 14 for the 5th Annual Boner Bender. All three team entrants, Todd Wixon and Whitney and Brian Porn, scored top ten results, with Whitney taking first in the Women’s Singlespeed.

After the Psycowpth race at Tranquility was suspended due to inclement weather, the next MTB race in Nebraksa was the Platte River Battle Royal. All the team members in attendance lined up for the 4 hour marathon class with Sean Moore being the highest finisher at 10th.

April Road Racing Report

April was the month for Iowa road racing, and EVCC was in the mix.

The Twin Bing Cycling Classic in Climbing City, Iowa was as expected: windy, hard, and windy. Rich Anderson had a stellar day with a fourth place making him the highest-finishing team rider at the event.

Zieg crushing local triathlons

Dan Zieg (Lincoln) has been hitting the local multisport events hard and raking in some quality results. On 4/14/2013 he was 1st in the 20-25 division Spring Migration Triathlon Emporia, KS and 8th overall.

Then on 4/28/2013 Dan took 1st  25-29 Omaha Duathlon at Memphis State Park and was 7th overall “out of about 120ish.”

Dan added “Next up is Kansas 5150, an Olympic distance triathlon. See if my luck continues and if I have what it takes to qualify for nationals.”

Psycowpath 2013 Opening Rounds

The 2013 Nebraska mountain bike race season opened on the first weekend of April with three Psycowpath races – the Jewell Jam Time Trial and the Swanson STXC on Saturday and the Swanson XC Shootout on Sunday. The Saturday races were combined into a single stage with the winner determined by a point scale.
