Possible TT Venue Change

I propose a change in location to the remaining time trials. There has been a dramatic decrease in turnout which may or may not be attributed to its current location. Highway 35 is a great training route but it carries quite a bit of traffic. A move to the location proposed below would get us off of heavily travelled roads and give us more exposure along with other location benefits.  read more »

July 1 Norfolk Time Trial Results

A low turnout for the July 1 edition of the Norfolk Time Trial series but those who rode, rode hard. Duane Blair lined up against brothers John and Dan Spray in the "A" race, with Duane coming away with the win, averaging just under 24 mph over 8 miles. Dennis Smith bested Mark Herzinger to win the "B" race at over 20mph.

Duane  Blair and Dennis Smith continue to lead the points race in their respective divisions.

The next race of the Norfolk Race Series is a criterium at Northeast Community College on July 15.

Norfolk Race Series Remains the Same

After some deliberation, the decision is made. For 2008, the Norfolk Race Series schedule will remain as posted. For 2009 we will make the recommended changes (more crits). There might be more MTB action added to the line-up as well.

And right now, with two TT's coming up on the Rider of the Year Series schedule, its appropriate that there be a TT on the schedule now.

I know its only June, but we need to start thinking about Cyclocross as well. Now if Norfolk would only build a velodrome....

Time Trial Series Off and Running

The delayed start of the Norfolk Time Trial Series was almost delayed again with threats of thunderstorms. No severe weather moved into the area but rain showers still soaked the riders during the last half of the race. A busy spring that has forced many locals into a mid-season funk kept numbers low but the competition on hand was still fierce.  read more »
